Description
The patch note version of the changes are below.
Primal Beast:
Base attack time increased from 1.8 to 1.9
Base attack speed increased from 100 to 110
Scepter Reworked: On cast, Uproar will deal 100 physical damage and give a 0.5/0.7/0.9 second stun and 4/4.5/5 second break to all enemies on the map. Works through fog, but can only hit enemies if Primal Beast is visible to them. Does not pierce spell immunity.
Shard Reworked: During Pulverize, all enemies hit by the radius will have boulders tossed at their location with a flight time of 0.9 seconds. These rocks deal 40/50/60/70 damage and stun for 0.25 seconds in a 150 radius. Each rock will then split off into 3 outwards, dealing the same damage and stun.
Trample:
Now deals physical damage
Can now path through cliffs. Takes 0.5 seconds to scale cliffs
Duration increased from 5.5 to 6.5
Cooldown rescaled from 30/27/24/21 to 39/32/25/18
Pulverize:
Now a basic ability
Now deals physical damage
No longer mini-stuns
Now slows enemies in the surrounding radius by 100% for 0.4 seconds
Damage reduced from 150/210/270 to 60/80/100/120
Cooldown reduced from 32/28/24 to 22/20/18/16
Uproar:
Now an ultimate ability
No longer slows enemies
No longer gives bonus base damage
Max stacks increased from 5 to 20
Stacks now grant 5% debuff resistance
Any debuff from an enemy hero that affects Primal Beast’s movement speed will instantly grant 10 stacks (Includes slow, stun, root, cyclone, banish, hex, and sleep. Does not include leash, taunt, or fear.)
Bonus damage per stack reduced from 10/20/30/40 to 10/14/18
Bonus armor per stack reduced from 1/2/3/4 to 0.7/1.3/1.9
Duration increased from 7 to 7/8/9
Cooldown increased from 7 to 24/22/20
Now has a 50 mana cost
Talents:
Level 15: Changed from Beast dispels himself when casting Uproar to +25 Intelligence
Level 15: Changed from -5s Trample cooldown to +2s Trample duration
Level 20: Changed from +4 armor per Uproar stack to +2 Pulverize slams
Level 25: Changed from +100% Pulverize duration to -7s Uproar cooldown
Lore
Uproar was changed to an ultimate because this idea felt more like an ultimate than Pulverize. Also, Pulverize is fine as a normal ability anyway, as it gives another avenue for Primal Beast to "bait" disables onto him to increase his Uproar stacks. Onslaught and Trample already do this, so no changes really needed.
In short, his three basic abilities are all really strong if you cannot hold him down, but are also baiting tools to force enemies to hold him down. Yet Uproar can make him nearly immune to being held down if you do too many disables on him. It builds into itself more and, again, fits his motif better in my opinion.
