Description
Let's start with his weakness.
He is extremely vulnerable during the laning phase. Even if he can get XP by charming enemies, he will only get 50% at level 1 and his lane companion will get nothing; if he charms every lane creep, his lane mate will stay lvl 1 all the way into mid-game, this is basically greifing.
He doesn't have the ability to last hit and deny.
If he chooses to harass instead, it's 100-0, he can instakill enemy hero if he gets to 100 stack, but it takes 100/50/34/25/20/16 continue hits in 60s (debuff duration don't refresh) to do so... not easy.
He is OP versus hitters by design. However, any caster with a damaging spell could defeat him, and I believe Dawn/PA (melee hitter) can easily kill him. However, laning 2 hitter vs Buddha is self-counter.
The debuff does not refresh, which means it doesn't work like Ursa's swift or Dazzle poison, so if your stack becomes too high, simply go pull camp or roam for a minute; he will not be able to stop you because he lacks disable. As a result, he hits you 50+ times in laning for 0 damage, which is a massive waste of time.
The hero isn't particularly tanky; he begins with 500 HP and 2str growth.
His Ult, it's channeling with him in the middle, which can be cancelled by silence/eul/stun. And his ally can't hurt you either. It's a saving spell like Naga Song. And then switch to offensive after acquiring Agh and a lot of attack speed, which is difficult for this hero to do.
He also can't focus kill someone without his teammate disabled, because he doesn't have any. At his peak, he needed 16 hits to kill a hero, whereas many carriers only needed 2-5. With FS/Ghost, I foresaw an easily tilted scenario in which the enemy survives 90+ stacks and returns to the fight with full health.
5xGhost Scepter is all it takes to wreck his carry game. He can't use Nullifier or Revenant's Brooch, or perhaps Halbard, Butterfly will suffice. He, too, cannot reap the full benefits of MKB.
Gold farming on this hero is anything but simple. Because you cannot last hit, your options are Midas, Assist, Deward, Charmed creeps, and Radiance aura. (sacrifice the damage) I don't see how anyone can be 6-slotted on this hero before the 50-60 minute. However, if he manages to reach the full build lategame despite all odds, he has the potential to turn the game into a 10v0 by killing and charming all opponent heroes to his side (5man RP?).
Now about his strength
He counter Zoo so hard, with Enlightenment Shard + Talk No Jutsu, he can charm the entire army to fight for him, and even Enc's Agh couldn't counter him, in lategame 4 quick AoE slap and they will all turned back to be his allies again. Also give him lot of XP (2x50% at lvl1, 2x100% at lvl5)
With Iddhi. (Outpacing Angulimala) No heroes in the game can catch up to him, (Casting on SB while charging would be amazing) and his boot slot is free for another item.
Rupture? He can kill you with BM + Pure Land's Agh without suffering any damage.
Lategame highground push against Pure Land is a living nightmare. Although no one can inflict damage, Buddha does not need to do so to kill or charm you. (Scary if he has enough attack speed) Or think how horrible it would be if his team chose heroes who could capitalize on this all-invincible time, such as Slark or Undying.
