Description
I think the solution is pretty simple - make two separate inventories:
1. Character equipment - it will have 6 slots for artifacts such as:
- Boots.
- Basic stat items: branches, gauntlets, slippers, etc.
- Ugraded items: weapons, armor (assault cuirass, shiva, etc.), capes, helmets, scepters, staffs etc.
2. Belt - it will have 6 slots for utility items, such as:
- Consumables: healing salve, clarity, tango, mango, faery fire, bottle.
- Protection consumables: infused raindrops.
- Detection/invisibility: smoke of deceit, dust of appearance, gem of true sight.
- Vision: observer ward, centry ward.
- Books and scrolls: town portal (optional, could keep current special slot), tome of knowledge.
- Blink Dagger (optional).
Character equipment ui element can be placed on the left side from the character portrait (belt will be in current inventory ui place).
Belt items could be placed in character equipment slots for convenience, but not the other way.
POSSIBLE: Allow to put upgraded items into belt slots - they will not give any bonuses (attribute increase, passive auras, etc.), but provide their active abilities.
For example: Rod of Atos, Orchid Malevolence, etc.
